Gowda tale

With Gowda and family committed to their ambitious project fondly called as  Biharisation of  Karnataka, this is the apt timing for me to recall an interview with Master Hiranyaya (a humorist and playwright) way back in 1997 when Deve Gowda was the chosen as PM. As such it was a surprise for most in India as no one knew who this fellow was. However some in Karnataka rejoiced as he was the first Kannadiga to be a PM. However Master Hiranyaya did not rejoice and made less favorable comments to his elevation as PM of India. On being queried for the reason, Master Hiranyaya in his characteristic style replied:
“I would be very happy to become a grandfather and I am looking forward to that to that day. However I would want to be a grandfather only after my son enters the wedlock and not before that!”

Brilliant articulation of Mr.Gowda’s capabilities. He is fit to be not more than a panchayat member.
