Mysore trip

A fortnight back I drove to Mysore in my now-not-so-new Santro. Pleasantly discovered:

• My Santro gives me a fuel efficiency of close to 19 kilometer per liter (with AC switched on for less than 10% of the travel)  


• More than 70% of the Bangalore – Mysore highway is now two lane – and fit for cruising; the rest 30% is being laid


• Mysore is not an alternative to Bangalore for sure, but can exist as a good suburb of Bangalore


• A neat restaurant by the Kamath group on the highway. My review of this restaurant is on rediff online.

Blogging

Did you know that:

• Blogging is so powerful idea that major companies have started using them for building relationship with customers and vendors, to make their ideas known to a wider audience.


• Blogging as an idea is one of the Best Ideas of 2005 (at least that is what BusinessWeek has researched).

That’s really news to me and probably that’s an indication as to why there has been a surge in the amount of blogs this year, although blogging per-se is already a few years old.

Any answers?

Does statistics or any science throw reasons on why the following happens to us?

• In a set of queues to a counter, the queue next to you appears to move faster


• The deviation that you take on a highway finally leads to a traffic jam


• You never get seated next to pretty women in flight, cinemas, trains or even bus stops


• Your train or flight usually gets delayed


• You are caught by the traffic police driving without copies of your documents

The list is endless. We need no statistics or science to answer this. We just ignore the number of times we get lucky and highlight the occasions where we are not so lucky. The ‘we’ here does constitute a majority in this world.
