Doddavarella jaanaralla....

Having grown up listening to Akashavani
Bangalore (All India Radio) daily between 8:15 AM to 9:00 AM to the Kannada
film music played, many film songs reverberate even now within me. Unlike the
present days of Upendra’s lousy music and lyrics, those were the days of
meaningful lyrics and pleasant music. Why am I being so nostalgic? Nothing
nostalgic about it, we do have our AR Rahman to our rescue these days for good
music. Just remembered one song “Doddavarella jaanaralla, chikkavaraella
koonaralla….”,
which in Kannada means that “seniors are not clever and
juniors are not fools either…” it goes on to continue “teachers’ words are
never true”. This was sung in the film by a set of comedians and I don’t think
most of us took the song seriously as we listened to it. Although I do not
subscribe to the whole of what is sung, somewhat nija alwa (true
right?)

A dosa more cost me 100 rupees

7:50 AM: Out of shower

7:57 AM: Had two delicious dosas

7:59 AM: Munched away one more

8:04 AM: Bus left

8:06 AM: Reached bus stop

The last event should have been the penultimate event, alas it was not. Had to hire a auto to my office and shell out only one hundred rupees as the auto meter was unusually correct.

On the hindsight, what should I have done? Stopped at 2nd dosa? Got out of the shower 2 mins earlier? Or got into the shower a few minutes earlier?

Too much of analysis for just 100 rupees?

Shame Shame

It is fashionable to be anti-India in India. Your intellect is measured by the amount of venom you spew on the country. In our neighborhood, adultery is punished by stoning to death, theft by chopping the limbs off, but in India you can attack the very edifice of democracy, engage in cold blooded murder of innocent people and you will have a fan-club of politicians and intellectuals who will fight for your release. You can mastermind a bomb blast killing scores of people and you will have a bigger fan following who will recommend that you be provided a five star treatment while in jail. Probably in a few years being a terrorist may be very lucrative profession and may even be viewed high on the social strata of India.

Probably India should apologize to Pakistan for blaming them for terrorism in India; we have the enemy very much within across the length and breadth of the country.

Shame. Shame. Shame.
